It is common for workers to put themselves in situations that are unsafe in order to get the job done. Unfortunately, this practice often results in accidents leading to injury or death. With raised awareness and knowledge of basic fall protection standards and guidelines, many of these accidents can be avoided.
Fall protection training is not only essential to employee safety, but OSHA law also requires it. Atlantic Fall Protection offers comprehensive, on-site Authorized User training for workers required to utilize fall protection. We also provide Competent Person training for supervisors overseeing workers using fall protection equipment.
Relevant ANSI and OSHA Standards:
29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1) The employer shall provide a training program for each employee who might be exposed to fall hazards. The program shall enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and shall train each employee in the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards.
29 CFR 1910.30(a)(1) Before any employee is exposed to a fall hazard, the employer must provide training for each employee who uses personal fall protection systems or who is required to be trained as specified elsewhere in this subpart. Employers must ensure employees are trained in the requirements of this paragraph on or before May 17, 2017.
