Competent Person training is for supervisors and safety professionals who oversee employees that use fall protection. It is the Competent Person’s responsibility to identify potential fall hazards and implement procedures to eliminate them. Fall protection should only be used by individuals while under the supervision of a Competent Person.
Atlantic Fall Protection’s Competent Person training educates individuals about real life dangers of fall exposures and the equipment used to eliminate hazards. The course combines lecture, demonstrations and hands on experience. Our instructors are extremely knowledgeable about fall protection standards and equipment and have many years of experience working in the fall protection and safety industries.
Upon completing Atlantic Fall Protection’s Competent Person training, students have a thorough understanding of fall protection equipment selection, donning of the harness, connecting devices, passive systems, restraint systems, arrest systems, hazard elimination, positioning systems, rescue systems, anchorages, fall protection inspections and OSHA and ANSI fall protection standards. All individuals that successfully complete the course exam are presented with a Competent Person Training wallet card and certificate of completion.
