Ladder Fall Protection

Ladder fall arrest systems are an effective fall protection solution when climbing permanent fixed ladders. A ladder fall arrest system may be a viable option when a ladder exceeds 20 feet in length and there is no cage or landing platform present on the existing ladder. Long unbroken ladders are often located on towers, water tanks, and chimneys. These ladders allow no space for cages or platforms making ladder fall arrest systems the only option.

Many employers don’t trust a ladder cage to keep their employees safe. These companies may require their employees to use a ladder fall arrest system in conjunction with a ladder cage and landing platforms. Although this is not required by OSHA many businesses are incorporating this policy into their fall protection and ladder safety programs.

Railok 90 Vertical Rail System

The Railok 90 system is designed for vertical fall arrest on ladders, towers and other applications that require a worker to be tied off while ascending or descending. This system consists of an aluminum rail that attaches directly to the ladder or object requiring vertical fall protection. If there is no ladder present the Railok 90 system can incorporate ladder rungs. Climbers are protected from falling with the use of a sleeve that connects to the workers harness and the Railok 90 system.
